Our story begins across continents, oceans, and man-made borders. Like countless others before us, we found ourselves in a new land that offered the promise of a bright future, the opportunity to improve our lives, and the hope all things are possible through dedication, determination, and hard work.
When it came time to start a family, we sought to create an environment where our children would feel loved, supported, and hopeful. Of course, this is what every parent wants, for their children to live in a world where they believe they can break through any barrier, have the confidence to tackle any obstacle, and fly further, faster, and higher than those before them. As parents, we would do absolutely anything to ensure our children lived in such a place.
And so, we captured every moment, recorded every event, and found creative ways to celebrate all the ways in which our son is unique. We particularly sought opportunities to celebrate culture and that led to the creation of a YouTube channel dedicated to sharing silly moments with family in Japan, Mexico, and the United States. These silly moments, as it turns out, are universal and we have continued to encourage our son to explore his creative side through videos.

Once you begin a journey though, there’s no turning back. We have taught our son that anything is possible through hard work, dedication, and creativity. What we didn’t realize, is that he would return to us day after day with newly imagined characters, other-worldly adventures, and fun and imaginative stories. We figured that if he was taking creation and self-expression so seriously, then so should we.

So, we created Sosa-Nakata Publishing to turn his ideas into actual books. Our son couldn’t be happier and is now on track to publish his first book this summer. We can only hope that he continues to embrace the child within him and never stops dreaming. After all, every child is a storyteller.
